8th Grade

Wow. 8th Grade is harder than I’d imagined it would be. We are at the end of the first quarter, and so I feel as if I should do a self-assessment.

We get a lot more homework now, and I find that I am often bogged down. However, I have made a system that works for me, doing certain pieces on certain nights, and making sure that I do a background study in each subject at least once a week, especially Science.

The new teachers are great too. We are now on American textbooks all the way until the end of high school, and so it has been difficult in Maths to learn a second formula to everything. But it is good fun anyway, and having different teachers shows me just how diverse the world is. The middle school is so different this year. The discipline system has changed drastically with changes in leadership, which I’m not sure that I altogether like. However, as one of my old teachers told me, ‘you will have good teachers and not-so-good ones.  You will have good systems and bad systems.’ I’m just going through a phase of systems that don’t work for me.

Worship Team has not yet started up again, but there are many people who want to do it. I am excited to see how it is going to look this year (wow-I sound like my old english teacher), since it has completely changed over the past two years or so. Student Council also is going to be very different, but that has not yet been figured out yet.

It looks like the next six months are going to be very interesting…
