I first got into geocaching in April, at the ECM conference. As you can see in one of the pictures below, there were some pretty ingenious hiding places! When I got back to Tirana, I searched for the four that are meant to be hidden in this city, but to no avail. However, on Tuesday, some of the middle schoolers met up for the day to hang out with Miss Knasel, who came for a visit. In the last 20 minutes or so of being together, we suddenly had the idea to go look for one. We found it! It is by the mosque of Ethem Bey, in the centre. No more detail shall be given… A photo of the logbook is included in the slideshow below. This morning, I went out by myself and managed to find one by the pyramid! I was not able to find any of the others that are hidden in  Tirana.

For those interested, the website can be found at This site. Alternatively, you can find an app for it on your phone. There is only one official website, and so all apps will have about the same amount of information, though for some you may have to pay (avoid those ones).

  1. Well done Jonathan. This reminds me of the kind of activity Judith (Aunt to you) was involved with at Uni. She certainly enjoyed it, sounds as though you do too.

Great seeing you today, hope you enjoy your cinnamon bun this evening — Pops is cooking salmon for us, perfect!

    Take care,

    Lots of love
